Track lists as workflow outputs
A Track List contains references to other tracks. Thus, to view a track list after its creation, the individual tracks it refers to must be available.
Thus, creating a Track List in a workflow involves both:
- Creating and saving the Track List:
- Add the Create Track List tool to the workflow.
- Connect an Output element to its output channel.
- Saving any tracks generated by the workflow that are included in the Track List:
- Add an Output element to all output channels of other tools that are connected to the
Tracksinput channel of the Create Track List tool. When this condition is not met, a warning message like the following appears when these conditions are not met:
Track List: all tracks must also be workflow outputs. The Run and Create Installer buttons will be disabled until the issue is corrected.
- Add an Output element to all output channels of other tools that are connected to the
Other tracks based on a compatible genome can also be added to a Track List created in a workflow by connecting Input elements to the Tracks input channel of the Create Track List tool.
The order of tracks in a Track List
By default, the order that tracks are listed in a Track List reflects the order that connections to the Tracks input channel of the Create Track List tool were added. This order can be adjusted, as described in Ordering inputs.
When a Track List contains more than one variant track, it is the table view of the variant track earliest in the order that is opened in a split view when the Track List is opened.
