Introduction
Welcome to Analysis Automation Server Plugin 25.0.
In laboratories where genomic data is routinely sequenced for processing by a given set of secondary analysis workflows, it can be beneficial to automate the process of submitting the sequenced data to the workflows. The benefits include:
- Improving the turnaround time from when the sequencer is started to the secondary analysis results are ready. For example, if the sequencer is started in the afternoon and finishes during the night, the sequenced data can be submitted for analysis as soon as the sequencing run is completed.
- Removing a manual step from the laboratory process, thereby reducing the risk of human errors.
The Analysis Automation Server Plugin enables automated submission of samples produced by a sequencer to analysis workflows installed on a CLC Genomics Server. Samples can be submitted for processing on-premise, or on AWS if the CLC Genomics Server has been configured with a CLC Genomics Cloud setup.
Information about installing the plugin on the CLC Genomics Server can be found in Installing the Analysis Automation Server Plugin. After installing the plugin, controls for setting up and running automation will be available in the server web administrative interface at:
Extensions () | Analysis automation ()
Information about setting up analysis automation can be found in Running analysis automation. Sample files are detected by monitoring the file system location in which the sequencer outputs its results. The rules for which sample files should be submitted to which analysis workflow on the CLC Genomics Server are configured as described in Configuring analysis automation.
If issues arise while using the plugin, please refer to Troubleshooting.
System requirements are listed in System requirements.
General information on setting up workflows is provided in the CLC Workbench manual: https://resources.qiagenbioinformatics.com/manuals/clcgenomicsworkbench/current/index.php?manual=Workflows.html
