Drug Resistance Analysis

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an emerging threat to human and animal health worldwide. It is therefore of great importance to identify antimicrobial resistance genes from isolate or metagenomic sequencing data both for monitoring purposes and to gain actionable insight. To detect resistances from sequencing reads directly, the tools Find Resistance with ShortBRED and Find Resistance with PointFinder can be used for probing the presence of resistance gene families or resistance conferring mutations, respectively. In order to detect AMR genes from assembled sequencing reads, the tool Find Resistance with Nucleotide DB is available.
