Using a CLC Workbench to launch external applications
When a Workbench is connected to a server with external applications, those available to you will be listed under the Tools menu at:
Tools | External Applications ()
The organization of the tools in the External Applications folder depends on the configuration of each tool (figure 16.53). I.e. this is under the control of your server administrator.
External applications can be launched directly, from under the Tools menu, or included in workflows alongside other external applications and CLC tools, (see External applications in workflows).
Figure 16.53: External applications available to you from a CLC Server are available under the Tools menu in Workbenches connected to that server.
When launching an external application, the first wizard step provides execution environment options (figure 16.54). The options available depend on your setup.
Figure 16.54: The first step when launching an external application from a Workbench is to specify the environment it should be executed in.
The next wizard step(s) present configurable options for the external application (figure 16.55), with the final step prompting for where to save results.
