Configuring the cloud connection
To configure the cloud connection, go to:
File | Cloud Connection (
)
The same menu item is also available in the main toolbar, under the Cloud menu (figure 2.1).

The cloud configuration dialog (figure 2.2) allows you to specify the AWS account credentials and the settings for CLC Genomics Cloud Engine (GCE).
For importing data from the cloud and exporting data to the cloud, only the AWS credentials need to be specified. These are described in Settings for Amazon Web Services.
For running workflows in the cloud, the GCE settings must be filled in as well. These are described in Settings for CLC Genomics Cloud Engine.

Connection status
The status of the cloud connection is shown using an icon in the status bar at the bottom of the CLC Workbench window:
- indicates that a connection has been established to Amazon S3 but not to the CLC Genomics Cloud Engine. Import and export are possible with this status.
-
indicates that a connection has been established to Amazon S3 and to the CLC Genomics Cloud Engine. Import and export can be carried out, and workflows can be run in the cloud with this status.
