Phylogenetic trees

Phylogenetics is the study of evolutionary relationships. Phylogenetic relationships are often depicted as a phylogenetic tree, providing a visual depiction of how closely groups are related. The types of measures used to evaluate relationships can vary in type (e.g. genetic, morphological, or molecular data).

In this chapter, we describe the tools available for creating and evaluating phylogenetic trees, including functionality for creating high-quality, publication-ready figures.
