Reads tracks and stand-alone read mappings

This section describes the common features and differences that exist between the two types of output that are generated by the Map Reads to Reference tool.

As a reminder, here are the main differences between tracks and mappings.

Reads track

  • seamlessly integrates with subsequent analyses
  • best viewed in a Track List for comparison with other tracks
  • an overflow graph above the reads in the reads track shows reads that cannot be displayed in the track
