Rebuilding the index

The CLC Server maintains an index of all the elements for each data location, which is used when searching for data elements. The index for each available data location can be rebuilt (figure 3.4).

Note: Rebuilding an index can take a long time for locations with a lot of data elements.

When adding a data location, re-building the index is the default option. Rebuilding the index is also useful if:

Figure 3.4: The index for each file system location can be rebuilt. This is useful when searching does not return expected results, but can take a long time for locations with many data elements. Here, CLCServerLoc2 has been disabled and thus its index cannot be rebuilt.
